Write to Your Local Representative / Elected US Senator
Thanks to the initiative of much of the public to write to their representatives, the Big Cat Public Safety Act was successfully passed in July of 2022. Further milestones for big cat conservation can be reached when more people choose to make a difference and write to their representatives about issues facing big cats, such as upholding the articles of CITES. Check this website to find the US representative based on your location.
Conserve Energy and Water
Simple actions such as turning off the lights when you leave a room, unplugging appliances that are not in use, composting, using cloth towels instead of paper towels, and turning off the faucet when you are not using it can make an impact if we all decide to make little changes to our daily lives. These actions, if done by enough people, can help decrease climate change that impacts big cats' habitats. Remember that one person's actions may not change the world completely, but one person's voice can make all the difference.
Donate to Conservation Organizations
If you are able to, consider donating to Panthera, Snow Leopard Trust, National Geographic, or the World Wildlife Fund. This money helps contribute to big cat research and funds impactful conservation projects.
